Full time. Possibility of overtime. Mon‑Fri, 8am‑5pm, may include occasional Saturday or evening shifts.

Summary
:
Do you enjoy creating fun and cool things, like oversized games and backdrops? Do you have general labor experience and want to work with AC indoors? Do you have a tinkerer, DIY or maker mindset? In this position you will problem‑solve and apply your mechanical aptitude in a shop where you make really cool things! You will enrich lives, develop lifelong skills, and grow professionally here.

- Utilize fabrication and shop skills while building exhibits.
- Follow all safety protocols and standards.
- Participate in regular training and on‑the‑job skill development.
- Be involved in exhibit development and projects.
- Maintain, repair, clean, and safely utilize shop tools.
- Thoughtfully promote a love of inquiry and discovery by creating safe, inclusive, and fun opportunities for transformative experiences through high‑quality, intentional craftsmanship and intelligent, human‑centered, universal design.
- Work with shop machinery, tinker, and create.
- Have an aptitude for how mechanics work.
- Collaborate with other departments.
- Exemplify Thanksgiving Point’s mission, values, and policies.
- Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
- Know, understand, and have experience with best practices in exhibit fabrication, shop machines and equipment, materials, engineering, and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of how to use power tools such as table and band saws, sanders and routers.
- Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to problem solve with multiple shop tools, using basic physics, mechanics, engineering.
- Willing to learn, respectful, welcoming, reliable, flexible and collaborative.
- Follow all safety protocols.
- Pass a background check.
- Be at least 21 years old.
