Job Summary
The Worker 1, Facilities Custodial Floor Maintenance (Part‑Time) (Night Shift) reports to the Supervisor and plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and appealing environment across campus. The position requires knowledge of floor maintenance and custodial services, use of cleaning equipment and chemicals, and the ability to respond to emergencies such as floods, spills, and snow removal. The shift schedule is Mon‑Thurs 10:00 pm‑4:30 am and Fridays 10:00 pm‑3:30 am, with flexibility for 24/7 on‑call duties for snow removal and other emergencies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Extract, detail carpets and upholstery using proper chemicals and equipment.
- Strip and resurface hard floors using proper chemicals and equipment.
- Respond to emergency calls and clean up after floods and spills using flood‑cleanup equipment.
- Complete and maintain all required SLCC, Facilities custodial and floor‑maintenance training.
- Complete floor‑maintenance special projects to create a positive working environment.
- Monitor, post time on, and close work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Sprocket).
- Remove snow and ice around entrance ways and keep sidewalks clear to prevent closures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- All employees must maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah, providing a valid address within 30 days of start date.
- Must possess a valid UT driver license.
- High School Diploma and at least 1 year of related full‑time experience, or equivalent substitution on a 1:1 basis.
- Subject to a successful completion of a criminal background check.
