Position: UTILITY SYSTEM OPERATOR with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will operate and maintain several potable water systems which require both non filtration and filtration processes to change the taste, odor, physical, chemical, or bacteriological content of the water.
* You will introduce chemical agents into the water systems to keep the water up to acceptable quality standards and maintain necessary records in the accordance with approved methods and procedures.
* You will perform chlorination disinfection on new and repaired water systems.
* You will perform routine maintenance, such as lubricating, making operating adjustments, and cleaning and painting the equipment.
* You will perform water quality analysis for chlorine, ammonia, pH (the measure of the acidity or basicity) hardness, alkalinity, turbidity, conductivity, and taste and order, and performs other test required. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
* Certifications are required. Incumbent must possess the following certification:
State of California D2 Water Distribution Operator (or must obtain D2 within 7 months of appointment)

State of California T2 Water Treatment Operator (or must obtain T2 within 7 months of appointment)
* Certifications are required. Incumbent must possess the following certification:
State of California W1 Waste Water Operator (or must obtain within 18-24 months of appointment) Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
