The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleaning across all assigned facilities. This role includes conducting regular inspections, overseeing cleaning staff training, implementing cleaning protocols, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The QCM also handles customer complaints, monitors cleaning performance, and maintains a strong relationship with both clients and cleaning staff. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have strong leadership skills, and be able to resolve issues proactively to maintain a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control & Inspections:

  • Building Inspections:Conduct regular, unannounced inspections of assigned buildings to ensure adherence to cleaning standards and job specifications. Document inspection results via Clean Telligent software and provide on-the-job training as needed.
  • Weekly Reports:Ensure weekly inspections are completed and recorded through Clean Telligent. Address any issues and provide corrective action to cleaning staff when necessary.
  • Client Satisfaction:Resolve client complaints regarding cleaning services. Follow up with cleaning technicians and office staff to prevent recurring issues.

Training & Development:

  • Staff Training:Provide training on cleaning protocols, including the use of chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures. Ensure cleaning staff have the skills and knowledge to meet cleaning standards and maintain productivity.
  • On-the-Job Training:Train cleaning technicians during inspections or on-site visits, reinforcing company cleaning protocols and safety measures.
  • Emergency Preparedness:Train staff on emergency protocols, including how to communicate and respond to weather, infrastructure, or safety issues on the job site.

Scheduling & Staffing:

  • Time-Off Management:Manage time-off requests for cleaning technicians, including personal days, vacations, and sick time. Adjust schedules and coverage accordingly with support from the office.
  • Staffing Needs:Coordinate with office staff to ensure adequate coverage for shifts and cleaning staff availability.
  • Performance Evaluations:Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to cleaning technicians. Address any work performance issues and involve HR when necessary to resolve complaints or grievances.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

  • Inventory Control:Submit monthly inventory reports and ensure cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment are properly stocked and functional. Ensure all chemicals are properly labeled and that Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are up-to-date.
  • Equipment Maintenance:Ensure that all cleaning machinery (e.g., vacuums, floor scrubbers) is in good working order. Organize repairs or replacements as necessary to optimize productivity.
  • Vehicle Oversight:Ensure that company vehicles are used safely, maintained properly, locked when not in use, and kept clean.

Client Relations & Communication:

  • Client Interaction:Maintain communication with clients (building owners, property managers, facilities managers) to address adjustments to cleaning protocols, respond to inquiries, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Job Specification Updates:Work with the Operations Manager to update cleaning specifications based on client requests and communicate any necessary changes to the office and cleaning staff.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Safety Standards:Ensure that cleaning technicians are wearing approved personal protective equipment (PPE), uniforms, and badges as specified in job orders.
  • Chemical Safety:Verify that janitorial closets are organized, chemicals are stored properly, and MSDS sheets are accessible and match the chemicals being used on-site.
  • OSHA Compliance:Ensure that cleaning staff are trained on OSHA safety guidelines, and that all safety regulations are followed on the job site.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Reporting:Ensure that all required reports are submitted in a timely manner, including inventory and employee hours worked.
