Position: Maintenance Program Intern / Volunteer

About This Role

This role is for students and adults interested in hands‑on work, light construction, basic repairs, building maintenance, light landscaping, and helping keep community spaces safe and organized. You will assist staff with maintenance projects, organizing spaces, moving supplies, repairs, preparation for state inspections, and helping maintain agency buildings and grounds. Staff will guide you step by step through projects and daily tasks.

Some placements may involve working around vulnerable populations, including individuals involved with the justice system through programs such as Crozier House. Professionalism, respect, and appropriate conduct are required at all times.

Your Tasks
  • General Maintenance Support
  • Assist with painting, repairs, and building improvement projects.
  • Help staff complete small maintenance tasks around agency locations.
  • Organization & Cleanup
  • Keep maintenance and storage areas neat and organized.
  • Assist with cleaning project areas after work is completed.
  • Moving Supplies & Equipment
  • Help move furniture, donations, and supplies between locations or rooms.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down for events or projects.
  • Outdoor & Seasonal Work
  • Assist with outdoor cleanup and seasonal maintenance projects.
  • Help with landscaping, snow preparation, and ground upkeep when needed.
  • Safety & Tool Use
  • Learn about safe use of tools and equipment with staff supervision.
  • Follow all agency safety procedures and instructions.
