Cook Required to Work at Multiple Seniors' Living Facilities

Since 1960 Green Acres Foundation has provided affordable homes and care services for senior citizens in Southern Alberta. We believe quality of life matters. That is why we are creating senior living communities with a focus on independence, affordability, quality care and connection.

Our food services are of the highest quality, and we are currently looking for an experienced cook to join our team.

Once selected, the successful applicant will enjoy competitive wages, not having to work late at night, and not working as a line cook.

Applicants should have a great sense of teamwork, a flexible, willing, and positive attitude, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English. They should also possess provincial certification in food safety and hygiene, Standard First Aid certification, and a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

About the position:

• This is a casual position that can offer up to 37.5 hours per week
• Applicants must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Shifts to cover in this position are: 5am to 1pm and/or 10:30am to 6:30pm.
• The successful candidate will work at our Coaldale and Picture Butte locations so a driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

Basic Responsibilities of the position include:

• Prepping and cooking for 50+ people per meal
• Following the established menu plan
• Maintaining a clean and well-organized kitchen.
• Ordering food and kitchen inventory.
• Liaising with residents by assisting with serving
• Cleanup in the dining room as required.
