- This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the required first six months of employment.

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe purpose of this classification is to oversee and coordinate the contracted maintenance and repair services within the Division of Streets & Roads by planning, scheduling, inspecting, and verifying completion of work related to street maintenance, landscaping, debris removal, right-of-way upkeep, and other outsourced services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training that correlates to satisfactory completion of one year of college education
- Four years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of contractors performing maintenance services such as mowing, tree trimming, litter control, sidewalk repairs, concrete work, or other street-related tasks
- Inspect work sites to ensure compliance with contract terms, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Monitor contractor performance and adherence to schedules; document and report any deficiencies or issues requiring corrective action
- Serve as a liaison between the city and contracted vendors, resolving disputes and communicating expectations
- Prepare and manage work orders, service requests, and maintenance logs for contracted projects; ensure contractor compliance with applicable policies and procedures
- Assist with procurement processes by developing scopes of work, obtaining quotes, and reviewing contractor bids
- Track budgets and expenditures related to maintenance contracts and report progress to management
- May supervise city personnel supporting or inspecting contracted work
- Perform related work as assigned
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- Valid Driver's License
- Must obtain a Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B with Endorsement N - and a valid Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Examiner's Certificate within the six-month probationary period
- Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
- Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
