Part-Time Custodian; Kauai

Overview

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii, servicing commercial, retail, and residential properties on Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island. We currently perform janitorial building services, mechanical engineering, HVAC, and maintenance services for numerous properties.

Location:

Lihue, HI 96766 (Kauai)

Schedule:

Saturday and Sunday 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (16 hours weekly)
Compensation: $17.00 per hour

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness by cleaning food courts, restrooms, offices, walk paths, and storage areas.
• Sweep, dust, mop, remove trash, and place waste in designated areas.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks such as carpet and window cleaning when required.
• Restock cleaning supplies as needed.
• Notify the appropriate HBM employee regarding necessary supplies and equipment.
• Use a leaf blower and adhere to safety procedures.
• Report safety issues or building problems (e.g., burnt light bulbs).
• Multi‑task and work efficiently independently or as part of a team.
• Uphold professionalism and customer service standards at all times.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and co‑workers.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Must pass an HBM pre‑screen check.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Strong public relations and communication skills.
• Preferred experience in custodial/janitorial work, housekeeping, maintenance, or related fields.
• Ability to perform basic manual labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying a minimum of 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs).
• Must be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, and stand throughout shifts.
