Maintenance Technician

Cardinal Staffing Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support mechanical reliability and equipment performance for a manufacturing operation in Lima. This role supports an embedded, wall-to-wall production model, where packaging is manufactured directly onsite to improve efficiency and sustainability. The technician will work closely with plant leadership to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and meets production and quality standards.

Schedule:

12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3) – Days & Nights

1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

2nd Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Status:
Full-time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) Pay:
Starting at $27/hour (flexible based on experience)

• Ensure safe and efficient operation of all production equipment to meet performance and quality standards
• Follow all Lockout/Tagout procedures and safety protocols
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Identify and resolve equipment inefficiencies and production issues
• Conduct equipment changeovers with minimal downtime
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory usage
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Support installation and setup of equipment, machinery, and systems
• Work with conveyors, compressors, chillers, PLCs, and robotic systems
• Perform building maintenance and general repairs as needed
• Collaborate with production teams to improve processes and equipment performance
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Communicate issues, progress, and improvement ideas with management and team members

• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Technical certification preferred
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing (plastics or similar preferred)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
• Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and equipment manuals
• Basic computer skills (MS Office; SAP experience a plus)
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3), days and nights
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in varying temperatures
• Forklift experience or willingness to become certified

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, and moving equipment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
• Ability to safely work on and around production machinery
