As the Facilities & Maintenance Technician, you'll help ensure Brave Be's offices in Lincoln, York, and Beatrice remain safe, functional, and welcoming environments for the children and families we serve.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in maintaining spaces that directly support meaningful, mission-driven work.
From preventative maintenance and repairs to safety compliance and facility improvements, your work will have a direct impact on the daily operations and comfort of our team and clients.
What You'll DoMaintain Safe & Welcoming Facilities
- Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance across Brave Be locations
- Troubleshoot and repair facility-related issues in a timely manner
- Assist with painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and equipment maintenance
Promote Safety & Compliance
- Conduct building inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Support OSHA compliance, fire safety, and accessibility standards
- Maintain safety documentation, incident reporting, and SDS records
Support Operational Needs
- Assist with office set-ups, furniture moves, and facility projects
- Coordinate with vendors and licensed professionals as needed
- Respond to staff facility requests with professionalism and care
Care for Outdoor & Shared Spaces
- Perform and oversee seasonal grounds maintenance, including mowing, weeding, snow and ice mitigation, and exterior upkeep
- Help maintain welcoming spaces for staff, children, and families
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade training preferred
- Experience in facilities maintenance, repairs, or building operations preferred
- Knowledge of basic building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations
- A dependable, safety-conscious, and solution-oriented mindset

- Flexible weekday scheduling (12-20 hours/week)

- Flexible scheduling, approximately 12-20 hours per week
- Pay range starts at $16.00-$20.00/hour, depending on experience
- Occasional travel between Lincoln, York, and Beatrice locations (mileage paid at federal per diem rate)
- Reports to Director of Business Operations
