Installation Technician
Schedule: Day shift - 40 to 50 hours a week
Type: W2 Contract (4 weeks, potential extension)

We are seeking an experienced HRSG Erection Supervisor to oversee the installation and assembly of Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) equipment on a power generation project. The successful candidate will provide technical supervision, monitor installation activities, ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering requirements, and support the customer and erection contractors throughout the construction phase.
This position is critical to ensuring that HRSG components are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the erection and installation of HRSG components and associated equipment.
- Ensure installation activities comply with engineering drawings, specifications, field quality plans, and project requirements.
- Monitor erection contractors for proper implementation of installation procedures and quality standards.
- Verify equipment finish, corrosion protection, preservation, and cleanliness before, during, and after installation.
- Review construction and assembly documentation, including red-mark drawings and site-generated records, for completeness and accuracy.
- Participate in inspections, quality audits, walkdowns, and acceptance tests, including pressure testing and system verification activities.
- Identify installation issues, non-conformities, and open items, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Support the customer and contractors by providing technical guidance and advice during construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with site safety regulations, project procedures, and industry best practices.
- Verify that all prerequisites and hold-point requirements have been met before critical construction activities proceed.
- Prepare and maintain inspection records, reports, punch lists, and open-point tracking logs.
- Communicate concerns, deviations, or quality issues in writing to the customer and relevant contractors.
- Support project completion activities and ensure systems are ready for commissioning.
Qualifications
- Technical degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in power plant construction, industrial boiler systems, or HRSG installation projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical erection, steel structures, pressure parts, piping systems, and quality control processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience participating in inspections, testing, commissioning preparation, and quality audits.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and quality management systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and construction documentation management.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with combined-cycle power plants.
- Experience working with EPC contractors and multinational project teams.
- Knowledge of HRSG manufacturers' installation requirements and quality standards.
- Familiarity with pressure testing, ECC walkdowns, punch list management, and commissioning activities.
