Role: Registered Nurse for SANE Program, providing specialized care for adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors in an emergency setting.
Responsibilities- Conduct medical forensic exams, assessments, forensic specimen collection, and photographic documentation.
- Collaborate with medical staff, law enforcement, advocates, and legal professionals.
- Attend peer reviews, courtroom proceedings, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Provide compassionate, non-judgmental care while managing forensic procedures and vicarious trauma.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Valid Illinois RN license.
- Certification in SANE training.
- Forensic nursing experience preferred.
- Proficient in computer systems like Epic.
- Perform forensic collections, stay compliant with professional standards, participate in interdisciplinary collaborations, and support survivors through sensitive, trauma-informed care.
