Role: Registered Nurse, Breast Navigator
ResponsibilitiesActs as an advocate, educator, and counselor for breast disease oncology patients, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and serving as a clinical resource. Implements a nurse navigator model to educate patients and families, coordinates tests and treatments, and facilitates communication among care teams. Supports patient decision-making, refers to supportive services, and promotes community education and early detection efforts. Mentors staff, reviews policies, participates in research and quality improvement projects, and maintains clinical expertise through professional development.
Qualifications & Skills- BSN required; MSN preferred
- At least 1 year of clinical oncology experience
- Active RN license in Illinois
- Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN) required; advanced certifications preferred
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Provide age-appropriate care, educate patients, coordinate multidisciplinary care, support patients during decision-making, and contribute to policy updates and quality initiatives. Engage in community outreach and maintain ongoing professional development.
