Reach Truck Operator shifts and hours are identified below. Days off and available shifts vary based on site needs at the time.

• Reach Truck Operators are primarily responsible for moving all received pallets through the facility, owning correct FEFO/FIFO, and managing storage organization and proper rotation. They handle loading of finished goods, transfers, and donation pallets on outbound trailers, while maintaining accurate load diagrams. Perform tasks safely, timely, and in accordance with SOPs and Home Chef's safety-first, quality-always commitment.

• Receiving
  • Ensure inbound trailers are secured per safety guidelines before unloading.
  • Unload pallets and stage for receiving and QA inspection.
  • Palletize mixed products onto separate pallets to aid inspection and receipt accuracy.
  • After receipt, scan pallets and verify QA sticker and Receiving License Plate are present and complete; move tagged pallets to the correct storage location.
  • Rotate older pallets into selection positions and place new pallets in elevated locations as close to the selection bin as possible to assist inventory counting and future rotations.
  • Keep the dock clear of debris and maintain organized pallets and receiving tools.
• Production Support
  • Verify products issued to production teams against the drop list, production sheet, or boxing call-out to prevent wrong products entering assembly or portioning.
  • Keep production drop zones stocked and clean.
  • Ensure pallets returned to locations are not mixed and are labeled per food safety requirements.
• Shipping
  • Ensure outbound trailers are secured and inspect for debris, holes, pests, or temperature deviations before loading.
  • Identify pallets to be loaded from the staging area and complete load diagrams accurately.
  • Seal trucks and submit load diagrams to the lead/supervisor; remove safety devices once paperwork is submitted so the driver can hook up.
  • Keep the dock clear of debris and organized.
• Organize Warehouse
  • Keep warehouse organized by returning products to proper locations and avoiding mixed pallets.
  • Use reach truck to access higher pallets and rotate older products to floor selection/pick positions for quick retrieval.
  • Ensure older products are rotated and selection/pick positions are replenished to minimize downtime.
  • Remove broken pallets and manage pallet stacking and disposition per color-coding rules.
• Support other Warehouse functions
  • Collaborate as a team to complete functions needed to deliver finished goods to customers; assist other departments as required.
• General Responsibilities
  • Follow safety procedures, perform pre-shift equipment checks, and wear required PPE.
  • Adhere to facility GMPs and help enforce them.
  • Sign for equipment needed to perform duties and sign back in at shift end.
  • Support SQF and quality programs; forklift/reach truck operators must be versed in warehouse SOPs.
  • Maintain professional conduct and respect others at all times.

• Experience with standup counterbalance forklift / reach truck preferred.
• General high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must have floor presence and be able to stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours.
