Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
Title:
Maintenance Technician – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Shift.
Location:
Onsite in Lithonia, GA.
Hours:
1st shift:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
2nd shift:
Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm
3rd shift:
Monday – Friday, 11:00pm – 7:30am
4th shift:
Friday – Monday, 4:00am – 2:30pm (
* 10-hour shift)
Hiring hourly rate: $36.16/hr plus $0.50/hr shift differential for 2nd & 3rd shift; plus $2/hr shift differential for 4th shift. 2-year earning potential based on continuous learning progression pay: 6 months – $37.63/hr, 12 months – $39.27/hr.
Responsibilities- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment by identifying issues with machines.
- Document work orders using CMMS.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the building.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as grinder, lathe, drill press, cutting torches, or welding equipment.
- Repairs or fabricates machine parts, jigs, and fixtures, and tools.
- Performs preventive maintenance (PMs) and predictive maintenance (PD.M.) as required and follows up with repairs.
- Supports operations with autonomous maintenance, SOPs and centerline programs for equipment.
- May operate a forklift or other PIE as required.
- Follows NFPA 70, LOTO and OSHA safety rules.
- Ensures that BRC protocols are implemented and audited as required.
- Associate’s degree or two-year certificate from college or technical school in Electrical Maintenance Technician, Mechatronics, or equivalent program, OR high school diploma with three years of experience in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC programming.
- Experience handling food production equipment including mixers, fillers, packaging lines, palletizing systems, and bulk delivery systems.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently; ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Comfortable entering and working in confined spaces.
- Working knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of Red Zone software.
- Willing to work overtime as needed throughout the week, including Saturday work.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift.
- Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk to communicate and listen effectively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must safely navigate stairs and ladders. The work environment may involve moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risks, wet or humid conditions, high or precarious places, vibration, loud noise requiring hearing protection, dust, and odor.
