The Facilities Supervisor – Aquatics supervises all maintenance at The Cove at the Lakefront®. This position requires a specific knowledge of the commercial swimming pool industry, including water chemistry, as well as pool equipment install and repair. This position also performs general facility maintenance and coordinates the work of vendors and staff.
The Facilities Supervisor – Aquatics will work in a year-round indoor aquatic park with a retractable roof, as well as with a seasonal, outdoor splash pad. Additionally, this position has the opportunity to work in a growing and diverse community. ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensures proper functionality of The Cove at The Lakefront®, including general and preventative maintenance and cleanliness of the facility; performs daily inspections to ensure all equipment is clean and in excellent working condition.Monitors, troubleshoots, and performs skilled repairs and general maintenance on aquatic features, including, but not limited to, chemical systems, pumps and motors, circulation systems, heaters, play features, pool and deck lighting, slides, indoor surf machine, Open Aire retractable roof, concrete, tile, and plaster.Repairs, paints, modifies, constructs, fabricates, and installs facility structures, equipment, and furniture.Safely resolves maintenance and repair issues in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner, according to industry standards, and according to relevant manufacturers’ specifications.Ensures that work orders are completed in a timely manner.Develops and maintains schedules of routine and preventative maintenance and replacement of aquatic equipment; adheres to ride/attraction manufacturers’ preventative maintenance programs.Supervises maintenance staff including making decisions and recommendations involving recruiting, hiring, scheduling, coaching, and performance.Maintains documentation including maintenance records and other reports as required.Cleans pool tile and plaster, vacuums pool, skims water surface, and cleans skimmer baskets.Performs water tests and temperature readings, adjusts water chemistry, and calibrates automation.Supervises all maintenance of The Cove at The Lakefront®.Implement and manage asset management program at The Cove at The Lakefront®.Assists with operations plan, including procurement of supplies and other tasks required.Provides technical guidance for supplies, parts, equipment, and services requested of contractors; coordinates work of repair, maintenance, and install vendors.Uses discretion and independent judgment regarding procurement and purchasing decisions in compliance with Town policies.Develops and maintains positive working relationships with vendors.May be required to respond to emergency calls to perform repairs and/or meet with service vendors during off‑day hours.Monitors inventory of and procures pool, maintenance, and chemical supplies; schedules deliveries.Provides budgeting assistance to supervisor, including requesting quotes, conducting research and making recommendations on capital improvement projects, planned equipment repairs/replacement, chemical costs, and other items.Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.Completes other duties as assigned.As a leader, must operate under the Town’s four core values of Integrity, Customer Service, Efficiency, and Innovation.EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 18 years old.High School Diploma or GED required.Three (3) years experience in commercial or municipal pool maintenance; or equivalent combination of vocational training/education and experience.Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines.LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess or have the ability to obtain the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification within 60 days from date of employment.Must…
