Position Overview
Clerical (Temporary, Fixed Term) position at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The Extra Help Assistant – EHS Tech assists the Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) in maintaining campus compliance in safety, fire, lab, recycling, and animal control. - Routine safety systems inspection and repair (fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signs, smoke/heat detectors, UST monitoring wells, eyewashes, safety showers, and other building devices).
- Fire systems maintenance and inspection.
- Lamp recycling.
- Safety/general equipment inspection.
- Animal control.
- Miscellaneous trouble calls / fire alarm responses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Basic computer skills and experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Two years of specialized training in electronics or related field.
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to localize and repair mechanical or electrical problems.
- Ability to test and monitor equipment functions.
$11.00 – $19.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
