Position: Extra Help Assistant- EHS Tech

Position Overview

Clerical (Temporary, Fixed Term) position at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The Extra Help Assistant – EHS Tech assists the Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) in maintaining campus compliance in safety, fire, lab, recycling, and animal control. Work shift is flexible. No sponsorship. Workstudy position:

Responsibilities
  • Routine safety systems inspection and repair (fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signs, smoke/heat detectors, UST monitoring wells, eyewashes, safety showers, and other building devices).
  • Fire systems maintenance and inspection.
  • Lamp recycling.
  • Safety/general equipment inspection.
  • Animal control.
  • Miscellaneous trouble calls / fire alarm responses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Basic computer skills and experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Two years of specialized training in electronics or related field.
  • Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to localize and repair mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Ability to test and monitor equipment functions.
Salary

$11.00 – $19.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
