Maintenance Scheduler

The Maintenance Scheduler plans and coordinates preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance across AWIP's facilities in Vacaville, California;
East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; and Little Rock, Arkansas. Based in Vacaville, this role converts maintenance needs into executable schedules with defined scope, labor, parts, tools, and production windows to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain the multi-site maintenance schedule and rolling backlog in the CMMS, including weekly plans and shutdown work.
  • Prioritize work by safety, compliance, asset criticality, production impact, urgency, and available resources.
  • Develop ready-to-schedule work orders with clear scope, steps, duration, labor, parts, tools, permits, and LOTO requirements.
  • Coordinate schedules with the Divisional Maintenance Lead and site Maintenance, Plant, Production, EHS, Quality, and Purchasing teams.
  • Plan work around production runs, changeovers, and outages for panel lines, foam systems, roll formers, saws, stackers, wrappers, accessory equipment, utilities, and material-handling systems.
  • Confirm parts, kits, outside services, vendor availability, drawings, manuals, and site conditions before work is scheduled.
  • Schedule preventive, predictive, inspection, and regulatory tasks; identify overdue work and escalate schedule or resource risks.
  • Lead weekly scheduling meetings and communicate approved plans, changes, constraints, and priorities across all three facilities.
  • Maintain accurate CMMS asset, PM, BOM, labor, parts, failure-code, and work-history data and drive timely work-order closeout.
  • Track PM and schedule compliance, planned versus reactive work, backlog age, downtime, repeat failures, and parts readiness.
  • Standardize maintenance planning practices across sites and support root-cause, reliability, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Travel up to 15% to AWIP facilities and support urgent schedule changes when operational needs require.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong maintenance planning, scheduling, prioritization, and multi-site coordination skills.
  • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, controls, utilities, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals, drawings, parts lists, work orders, and maintenance history.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems, Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and maintenance performance data.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly and manage changing priorities with limited supervision.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; related technical or college education preferred.
  • Three or more years of maintenance planning, scheduling, coordination, or CMMS experience in manufacturing.
  • Multi-site, continuous-process, insulated metal panel, metal-forming, or building-products experience preferred.
  • Experience with Lean, TPM, reliability, shutdown planning, and root-cause analysis preferred; CMRP or related certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work primarily in an office while regularly walking manufacturing and warehouse areas at AWIP facilities.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, crouch, reach, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear required PPE during plant visits.
  • Sufficient communication ability, dexterity, vision, depth perception, and hearing to perform the job safely.
