JOB GOAL: To maintain the facility and grounds in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational use of the facility may be made at all times.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) month (240 days) contract, Pay 802 Grade 01, Plus Benefits Package.

NOTE:

Precise placement on the salary scale will be determined based on experience.

Non-Exempt

NOTE: This position works eight (8) hours per day.

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work with others.
• Ability to deal courteously with the public and maintain working relations with staff members.
• Dependable and able to assume responsibility.
• Ability to care for tools and materials.
  
  Proficient use of cleaning equipment, such as floor strippers and mechanical buffers preferred.

• Responsible for cleanliness and safety, of assigned areas.
• Assists others in maintaining the entire building and grounds.
• Responsible for doing yard work assigned.
• Responsible for cleaning windows.
• Maintains floors, baseboards, etc., to an acceptable standard.
• Maintains a sanitary cafeteria/kitchens, lounges, and restrooms in cooperation with building staff.
• Follows the instructions of the head custodian or his/her designee.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the head custodian.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and downstairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up toforty (40) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information.

Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
