Who we are looking for

ACV Auctions is looking for an enthusiastic Inspector who has a knack for cars and wants to join a growing company. Inspectors are the face of our company. They know a lot about cars and explain what customers need to know in an understandable way. They are energetic, meticulous, and ensure clients receive the best service. We value Trust, Transparency, Credibility, and Customer Service, delivered by our Inspectors every day.

What

you will do
  • Actively and consistently support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
  • Partner with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease locations to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems
  • Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation
  • Help the sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products
  • Interface regularly with dealers to develop and ensure client satisfaction and build strong relationships
  • Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports, listing vehicles to sell on the auction platform
  • Take multiple photos, match them to a vehicle, and upload them to the image server using the company-issued smartphone
  • List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing
  • Sign up independent dealerships as buyers for ACV Auctions platform
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
What you will need
  • 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge) with customer service background
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods
  • Problem-solving aptitude with resourcefulness and innovative approaches
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team
  • Excellent communication to understand customer needs and expectations
  • Valid driver’s license and a registered and insured vehicle
  • Knowledge of systems, software packages, and web-based applications relevant to the role
  • Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs or more, bending, and squatting
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions
  • Vision abilities to identify small defects around and underneath vehicles
