Shift + Pay

2nd Shift Mon‑Fri 4:00 pm‑12:30 am, $20 per hour.

Job Purpose

To perform loading and unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers, ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse, and pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading trucks and trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
  • Picking and moving items from 1 lb to 50 lb or more multiple times.
  • Ensuring all documentation is properly completed.
  • Coordinating with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Properly storing all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
  • Ensuring all shipments are properly marked before storing or picking.
  • Maintaining warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Spotting trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into the warehouse.
  • Coordinating paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
  • Performing general maintenance of the area surrounding the warehouse.
  • Ensuring trailers are swept clean of any debris when empty.
  • Ensuring all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Processing outbound freight cross‑dock freight as necessary.
  • Operating stand‑up reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and some sit‑down forklift work.
  • Following all safety procedures at all times.
  • Building pallets and breaking down stock.
  • Operating in a fast‑paced warehouse.
  • Completing other tasks as assigned by manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Operating a forklift, cherry picker, and stand‑up reach forklift.
  • Demonstrating good communication, problem‑resolution, and people skills.
  • Maintaining orderly operation of the warehouse.
Qualifications
  • 1 year of forklift‑driving experience.
  • Certified forklift license.
Education and Experience Required
  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
Language Skills Sets
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; and to determine the root cause of a problem and appropriate corrective action.
