Job PurposeTo perform loading/unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers. Ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse. Pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Loading/unloading truck/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
- Picking and moving from 1 lb to 50 lbs or more multiple times.
- Ensure all documentation is properly completed.
- Coordinate with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
- Properly store all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
- Ensure all shipments are properly marked before storing/picking.
- Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
- Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into warehouse.
- Coordinate paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
- General maintenance of area surrounding warehouse.
- Ensure trailers are swept clean of any debris when empty.
- Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
- Process outbound freight cross‑dock freight as necessary.
- Ability to operate Stand‑up Reach Forklifts, Walkie Rider and some sit‑down forklift work.
- Follow all safety procedures at all times.
- Must be able to build pallets and break down stock.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
- Must know how to operate a Forklift, Walkie Rider and Stand‑up Reach Forklift.
- Good communication, problem resolution and people skills.
- Ability to maintain orderly operation of warehouse.
- 6 months - 1 year forklift driving experience.
- Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
