Maintenance Manager — Scrap Metal Recycling Facility

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all equipment maintenance operations within a busy scrap metal yard. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime, coordinating maintenance activities, and leading a team of mechanics to support safe and efficient yard operations.

• Oversee all maintenance activities for mobile equipment and yard machinery (material handlers, loaders, shear/baler, etc.)
• Track equipment condition and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is scheduled and completed
• Assign and coordinate work for mechanics, ensuring timely and efficient repairs
• Manage parts inventory, order necessary components, and ensure timely receipt of materials
• Monitor equipment downtime and implement solutions to improve reliability and performance
• Maintain maintenance records, schedules, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
• Work closely with operations to prioritize repairs and minimize disruption to production

• Experience in maintenance leadership within scrap, recycling, heavy equipment, or industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment repair
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Experience supervising mechanics or maintenance teams
• Strong organizational and communication skills
