The City of Loganville is seeking a full time Wastewater Operator in the Water Quality Control Department. This is a semi-skilled and skilled technical maintenance job that involves the handling of the City’s wastewater collection system.

• Ensures that wastewater is redistributed into the environment properly.
• Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the plant facility.
• Charts lab results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records and test results.
• Maintains grounds of the treatment facility.
• Maintains the NPDES permit requirements for the Water Quality Control Department.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs malfunctions on the wastewater treatment plant equipment.
• Collects samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical, or biological characteristics of wastewater required in accordance with Local, State, and Federal requirements; gathers and tests wastewater samples for plant efficiency reports as required.
• Calibrates, modifies or repairs instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flow meters, and other water quality monitoring equipment.

• Knowledge of general maintenance repairs.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, work colleagues, and the general public.
• Ability to respond seven days a week, 24 hours a day for system emergencies as needed.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• State of Georgia Wastewater Class II License (desirable).
• Valid State of Georgia driver’s license (Class A CDL desirable).
• Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Background Check.
• Passing a drug screen test.
• Confined Space, First Aid and CPR certification (desirable).
• Any combination of education or experience is acceptable.
