Cleaner Second Shift

Position Title

Cleaner, Saturday and Sunday Only – Second Shift

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Use light and heavy (commercial) floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas.
• Spot‑clean daily and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and interior door glass, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Wash/spot‑clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily using standard procedures such as damp wiping glass, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls and shelves, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
• Monitor defects such as clogged urinals or lights out and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and deposit it in the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• No previous cleaning experience required.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack vacuum cleaner.
• Requires strong attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organizational skills, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Hourly wages range from $19.51 to $22.95. Pay will depend on collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, market pay rates, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The position is exempt from paying less than the minimum wage.
