Facilities Technician (Part-time)
Position DescriptionFlagstaff Academy seeks a part‑time facilities technician. The hours are flexible (30‑40 hours a week during the summer and approximately 20 per week during the school year), which may be ideal for a student or someone looking for a flexible schedule. The position would be responsible for assisting our Facilities Manager with general maintenance and operations of our school building. This is a great opportunity to learn from a top facilities manager, who will be the direct supervisor for this role.
We are looking for someone who is a team player, has a positive attitude, and a constant willingness to learn.
- Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including general upkeep and minor repairs under the supervision of the Facilities Manager. This could include changing/installing lights and/or fixtures, general repair and painting, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry work, and other specific projects for the school.
- Moving: The end of the school year brings lots of laborious tasks around the building such as moving furniture from one classroom to another.
- Event Management: Oversee and perform the duties associated with events, including executing the set‑up plan and break‑downs.
- Safety: Assist the Safety Supervisor and Facilities Manager with any safety and security needs around the grounds of the facility.
- Grounds work: Flagstaff partners with an outside contractor for the majority of its landscaping work. However, there may be some responsibility to help shovel snow and remove ice on sidewalks during inclement weather.
The pay for this role starts at $18.00 per hour. We would likely start this role out as a 1099 contractor with the potential to become a part‑time or full‑time employee.
