Longmont, CO | 2-2-3 Schedule (12-hour shifts)
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support the production of consumer food products. This role ensures all electrical, controls, and automation systems run safely, reliably, and in compliance with GMP and food safety standards.
This is a hands-on technical position that also includes mentoring, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems
- Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, drives, and control systems
- Maintain power distribution systems and testing equipment
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals
Production Support
- Operate, maintain, and clean production equipment
- Perform changeovers and sanitation activities
- Support production uptime and minimize downtime
Safety, Quality & GMP
- Follow and promote site safety policies and GMP standards
- Identify unsafe conditions and recommend improvements
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements
Continuous Improvement
- Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement solutions
- Improve preventive maintenance programs and documentation
- Lead or support safety, quality, and productivity projects
Training & Collaboration
- Coach and mentor technicians on equipment and troubleshooting
- Participate in training, vendor visits, and skill development
- Support team communication and shift handovers
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and training records
- Update SOPs, job aids, and PM procedures
- Track parts usage and maintenance data in electronic systems
- 5+ years of experience with:
- PLCs (Studio 5000 / Logix 5000)
- SCADA systems (Factory Talk ME/SE)
- Motor controls, drives, and motion systems
- Ethernet/IP networks and industrial automation
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and control systems
- Experience with power distribution systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or technical degree
- Food manufacturing experience (GMP environment)
- Experience with calibration and instrumentation
- Experience creating SOPs and PM documentation
- Experience leading continuous improvement projects
- Schedule:
2-2-3 rotation (includes weekends) - Shift Options:
- Days: 5:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Nights: 5:30 PM – 6:30 AM
- Conditions:
- Hot/cold environments
- Moderate to high noise (hearing protection required)
- Work around machinery, platforms, and ladders
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Longmont, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $92497.00 - $98737.00/yr. Benefits will be given during interview process
