Electrical Planner – Scheduler

Responsibilities- Plan and estimate routine maintenance work, special orders, major maintenance jobs, and small shutdowns.
- Screen work notifications and confirm job priority after communicating with the Operations Work Execution Coordinator.
- Lead the weekly planning backlog meeting to agree on planning priorities.
- Identify all requirements for work execution, including:
- Scope development, job step‑outs, and quality assurance plans.
- Support resource identification and provisioning in work orders.
- Resource estimates and safety plans such as special PPE, fall hazard, and confined space requirements.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, cash flow, and spend on Special Order Requisition s (SOR), major maintenance jobs, capital repair, and small turnarounds.
- Initiate SOR approvals prior to job execution when estimated costs exceed SOR limits.
- Procure estimates, parts, and kits, and stage them for execution.
- Use computing systems to retrieve procedures, standards, drawings, specifications, and training materials, input and retrieve data, and stay available for rotational on‑call duties, overtime, or alternate schedules.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervision and outlined in departmental SOPs.
- Schedule daily and weekly work, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and equipment.
- Serve as the focal point for PMD resources and their allocation with other schedulers.
- Issue daily schedules by 3 p.m. and weekly schedules by Thursday afternoon.
- Optimize schedule resource loading to support maintenance productivity goals.
- Lead daily and weekly scheduling meetings with operations staff, maintenance planners, and support contractors.
- Communicate throughout the day and week with Maintenance Team Managers, support resources, and operations to account for changes.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date list of available flex jobs, resource requirements, and availability.
- Identify and resolve potential resource conflicts and manage schedule changes.
- Coordinate with work execution groups when jobs are delayed or moved up.
- Obtain additional resources for larger jobs.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Valid motor vehicle driver’s license
- Maintenance experience, including completion of the TXO Control Systems Mechanic Apprenticeship Program or
five (5) years of industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within a refinery or petrochemical environment.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum two (2) years of planning and/or scheduling electrical maintenance work in a refinery, chemical, or petrochemical manufacturing setting
- Practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor control centers, switch gear, transformers, breakers, heat tracing, lighting, and cable/conduit systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one‑line diagrams, loop drawings, specifications, and related technical documentation
- Strong understanding of electrical safe work practices, LOTO requirements, permitting expectations, and area‑specific safety requirements in a process manufacturing environment
- Experience developing electrical job plans, estimating labor and material requirements, coordinating support resources, and sequencing work for safe and efficient execution
- Proficiency with multiple software packages, including SAP Plant Maintenance, Viziya, Microsoft Office, Power BI, Intranet, Adobe Acrobat, and scheduling tools (e.g., Pro Cal)
- Knowledge of process industry safety and environmental policies and job estimating techniques for maintenance and construction crafts
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, proactive, detail oriented, with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines consistently
