Job Summary

Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS) a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC division is seeking a Fleet Technician III who thrives in a fast‑paced, team environment and provides exceptional service to our company, clients, and employees. Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies, Taurus Power and Controls, Cowlitz Clean Sweep, Pacific Northern Environmental Construction, and Waste Xpress Environmental. CCS provides industrial cleaning and spill response to almost every pulp and paper mill in the Pacific Northwest and services major oil companies and a wide range of manufacturing and industrial clients.

CCS has demonstrated its ability to complete large and complex industrial cleaning challenges on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the most stringent industrial health & safety programs.

Education and Experience Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • 5-10+ years of experience as a fleet technician
  • Technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred
  • ASE certification(s) in relevant areas such as brakes, suspension, engine repair, and electrical systems preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brake systems, hydraulics, and welding
  • Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication for structural and component repairs
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions in accordance with manufacturer specifications, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, clutches, driveline components, etc.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Fleet Technicians, mechanics, and others in the department, sharing technical expertise to support their skill development and career progression
  • Assist in supervising as needed, assisting with the team leadership and operational oversight when the Fleet Manager or Fleet Leads are unavailable
  • Demonstrate proficiency in low‑voltage DC electrical systems, including the use of electrical meters for diagnostics and testing
  • Perform electrical repairs and welding tasks as needed to maintain and enhance fleet vehicle functionality
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure all fleet vehicles meet company and regulatory standards
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and roadside assistance calls as needed
  • Support fleet upgrade and modification projects, including retrofitting vehicles with new technology or components
  • Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions and

Physical Requirements
  • Move about the jobsite as needed
  • Move work‑related equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Operate various technological devices, including a computer
  • Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs
