Transit Facilities Technician - Temporary

Position and recruitment information:

The Transit Facilities Technician position is available only temporarily during the year with the City of Longview. This recruitment is open until filled and applications will be reviewed as they come in.

• Assists the Transit Facility Maintenance/Customer Service Technician with pressure washing, painting, shelter cleaning, trash collection and bus stop upgrades including setting concrete forms, installing solar lighting and new signage.
• May be working independently or as a team with the Technician.
• Drive City vehicles between City facilities and job sites.
• May also be tasked with basic clerical duties as needed.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older prior to the date of hire.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Submit a copy of current State employment driving record abstract to verify eligibility to drive City vehicles prior to hire.
• Experience in facility maintenance and/or customer service and clerical work preferred.

• Basic safety precautions.

• Appear for scheduled work with regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
• Establish and maintain cooperative, effective, and productive working relationships using tact, patience and courtesy.
• Learn, interpret and implement procedural and technical instructions.
• Work in a team environment or independently.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the public.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle and other equipment.
• Operate a computer if applicable to assignment.
• Work various shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
• Physically perform the assigned duties and essential functions of the position.
