Special Events Assistant

Description

Lorain County Metro Parks is currently seeking a Special Events Assistant. We are looking for a highly organized individual interested in the hospitality field, with excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail.

• Proficient knowledge of all venue and park rules and regulations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and guests.
• Provide exceptional customer service and handle any issues that may arise.
• Prepare facilities before the event including room set up.
• Ensure that events stay on track and end on time.
• Ensure that the venue is clear of all decorations, supplies, and trash following each event, and document any damage to the venue and grounds.
• Open and close buildings, facilities, and outdoor venues, including setting security alarms.

Temporary

$12 to $15 per hour, commensurate with employee experience. Temporary employees can work up to 28 hours per week.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and staff.
• Ability to deal with difficult people and situations in a calm, professional manner, as well as problem-solve and make decisions quickly.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends as required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to work safely and effectively in outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
• Perform related duties assigned or apparent.

Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license or state  employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
