The Facilities Specialist
- Journeyman
will plan, coordinate, organize, and execute the facilities support needed to maintain the Program Executive Office (PEO) Enterprise facilities on Fort Belvoir, VA, and across the National Capital Region (NCR). The Facilities Specialist
- Journeyman
shall plan, coordinate, organize, and execute all facilities-related operations to ensure safe, functional, and efficient work environments. This includes expertise in building systems, regulatory compliance, operational practices, and collaboration with Fort Belvoirs Directorate of Public Works (DPW), Fire Department, and other relevant organizations. Additionally, the Facilities Specialist
- Journeyman
shall perform Furniture Installation, Reconfiguration, and Relocation Services for PEO Enterprise facilities. These services include assembly, disassembly, relocation, reconfiguration, cleaning, and repair of furniture, as well as support for special events and conference room setups. The Facilities Specialist
- Journeyman
shall ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with government-provided plans and requirements, maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism across all tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility, grounds, walkways, and parking to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs for building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, emergency power, and other critical components.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized services, such as, but not limited to, HVAC maintenance, carpentry, refuse removal, lighting repair and maintenance, carpet installation, and custodial services.
  • Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and functionality of facilities and equipment.
  • Monitor service orders and ensure timely completion of work, maintaining quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Oversee all warehouse activities, including, but not limited to, being responsible for receiving items, organizing inventory, distributing supplies efficiently and accurately, coordinating with relevant personnel to meet operational needs, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring proper storage procedures.
  • Evaluate office layouts and space requirements for practicality, economy, and adherence to policies and standards.
  • Conduct periodic space utilization surveys to optimize administrative space and recommend improvements to meet mission needs.
  • Coordinate realignment efforts and personnel relocations within the NCR, ensuring efficient use of leased and government-owned facilities.
  • Liaise with Army and DoD agencies to plan and execute construction, renovations, and tenant alterations.
  • Respond to inquiries, requests, and complaints regarding facilities operations, providing timely resolutions.
  • Prepare facility-related purchases and contracts, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records for property accountability, including inventories of government property, sensitive items, and expendable supplies.
  • Aids Primary Hand Receipt Holder (PHRH) by verifying issuing, receiving, and ordering of accountable Government property while adhering to the Army Audit Readiness checklist.
