Plant Maintenance Technician Lead - 3rd Shift

The Plant Maintenance Lead is responsible for the efficient operation of the maintenance department and for the general leadership of Mechanics and Cleaners. Prioritizes workload according to safety factors and operational needs and ensures workload is evenly distributed. Reviews productivity levels and the progress of all repairs. Monitors the preventative maintenance programs to ensure they are done in a timely manner consistent with all regulatory requirements.

Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by ensuring safe work practices are followed and monthly safety meetings are conducted. Administer company policy and procedures and promote positive employee relations. Candidates should have knowledge in troubleshooting and/or working with Conveyors, electronics (motor controls, VFD, PLC (Allen Bradley) and Hydraulics.

Ensures all maintenance employees have tools, equipment and supplies to perform maintenance and/or daily tasks.

Required Qualifications:

3 years Maintenance experience and/or support of maintenance department.

Proficiency level skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and communicating using email. Ability to learn our internal maintenance software quickly.

Work experience in successfully implementing safety programs and processes. Must have leadership experience, organizational, problem solving and communication skills. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

An extensive background as a mechanic with three or more years of hands-on experience is preferred. Waste industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Waste, rock & sand, concrete, and/or asphalt industry experience.
