Part-Time Preparator - Installer

Luis De Jesus Los Angeles, located in downtown LA, is seeking a skilled and experienced, detail-oriented art gallery Preparator and Installer to manage the physical handling, installation, packing and shipment of artwork.

This is a permanent part-time position and requires a commitment of two full days per week (10am to 6pm), plus one to two weeks during exhibition installation.(Our average showruns 5-6 weeks with a 2 week turnaround.) Responsibilities include receiving work, installing and deinstalling exhibitions;packing works (including making boxes) for shipping to clients, museums, and art fairs;organizing artwork inventory and storage room, and more.

All of this is done in close consultation with our registrar.

Interviews will be conducted from August 4 to August 15. The start date is the week of August 17, 2o26 (but flexible through the end of August).

• Mastery of hand and power tools and wall-mounting hardware.
• Knowledge and experience of archival materials and processes,and specialized packing (crating, wrapping).
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong eye for symmetry, balance, scale, and clean lines.
• Ability to troubleshoot structural or technical challenges quickly during high-pressure installation windows.
• Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate seamlessly with gallery directors, artists, and registrar.
