General Maintenance Worker

At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our Facilities team plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and fully operational environment for patients and staff. We’re seeking a skilled General Maintenance Worker to support equipment maintenance, repairs, and facility operations across the hospital.
What You’ll Do
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment including motors, pumps, fans, and filters
- Support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical system maintenance
- Assist with installation and repair of fixtures (lighting, sinks, toilets, faucets)
- Maintain and stock maintenance supplies within budget guidelines
- Support painting, wall repairs, and general facility upkeep
- Maintain cleanliness of plant areas, supply rooms, and equipment
- Assist other trades (plumbing, electrical, etc.) as needed
- Perform safety checks and isolation room testing
- Ensure compliance with PPE, safety standards, and hospital policies
- Transport and move equipment or furniture as needed
What You Bring
- 2+ years of maintenance or facilities experience (hospital setting preferred)
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
- Understanding of motors, pumps, and mechanical equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- Combination of education and experience in maintenance or mechanical repair
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days
