Job Summary:

Responsible for: overall preventative and routine maintenance of buildings and equipment on Layer and/or pullet facility. Monitor computer for all house vitals. Run and clean up daily manure belts and conveyor system. Unload trucks. Grind daily mortality. Maintain upkeep and operation of generator. Snow removal. Answer alarms. On call position and require.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for overall maintenance of layer and/or pullet facility
· Responsible for overall care of birds
· Monitor computer for all house vitals (water, air, feed)
· Run and clean up of manure belts and conveyor system daily
· Responsible for generator upkeep and operation
· Grind daily mortality
· Load and unload trucks with tractor/pay loader
· Responsible for preventative and routine maintenance of buildings and equipment
· Communicate with Side Managers on day-to-day maintenance issues
· Snow removal with tractor and shovel
· Follow all OSHA safety regulations and procedures
· Perform other tasks as assigned

Backup:
· A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

· Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere and equipment
· Husbandry Skills-Maintaining proper feed, water, climate and living conditions in building
· Shower In (REI provides clothing and footwear)
· Mechanical, electrical, metal working and plumbing knowledge
· Drive tractors, trucks
· Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely
· Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand
· Answer alarms
· Required to live within 15 minutes of layer/pullet site
· On call duties to include nights and weekends
· Hand/Eye/Foot Coordination
· Independent Self Starter/Team Player
· Attention to detail
· Advanced English: fluent: speaking, reading and writing
· Mathematical skills:
General Arithmetic/Basic Algebra/Percentages/Fractions
· Computer

Skills:

Touch screen, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Preferred:
· Fine Motor Skills
· Ability to ride custom pedal Tri-cycle

Equipment:
· Hard hat/Helmet/Hearing protection/ Safety glasses/Respirator mask/Harness for protection
· Trucks/ Tractor/Ground-keeping equipment/ Custom pedal Tri-cycle
· Hand tools/ Power tools
· Large push broom, kitchen pull broom/Squeegee, floor mop/ High pressure wand/ Air hoses
