Facility Maintenance Team Member

What You’ll Do:As a Facility Maintenance Team Member, you will help oversee the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall upkeep of our travel center. You’ll assist with training team members, completing facility repairs, and ensuring our location remains safe, clean, and welcoming for every Guest. You may occasionally interact face‑to‑face with customers and are expected to uphold a high level of service and professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with training and supporting janitorial team members
- Ensure equipment inside and outside the facility is operating properly
- Perform basic repairs including plumbing, HVAC, and general facility maintenance
- Assist with painting, drywall, snow removal, landscaping, and special projects as needed
- Clean and maintain restrooms, showers, drivers’ lounge, laundry room, and office areas
- Maintain Diesel and Gas Islands, including wiping dispensers and restocking supplies
- Follow proper safety procedures, including emergency shut‑off protocols
- Respond to and clean diesel spills according to company procedures
- Perform daily and weekly compactor maintenance
- Maintain parking lots and sidewalks by removing trash, pulling weeds, and monitoring for abandoned vehicles
- Operate power cleaning equipment as needed
- Uphold all safety policies and procedures
What Makes You a Great Fit
- A minimum of 18 years of age
- Previous cleaning or maintenance experience
- Knowledge of facilities repair and maintenance including plumbing, HVAC, and construction (preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- A professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to lift 20–50 lbs. occasionally and meet the physical demands of the role
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Commitment to safety and following established guidelines
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check
