Operations Maintenance Coordinator

Job Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Production Unit Manager, an Operations Maintenance Coordinator job description involves managing the interface between the maintenance, planning and operations work streams to ensure the scoping and scheduling of the operating department’s maintenance needs are aligned with the production requirements. The Operations Maintenance Coordinator is vital for enhancing operational efficiency and extending the lifespan of equipment and facilities. By effectively managing maintenance processes, the OMC helps organizations minimize downtime, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity.

Essential Functions

Planning and Scheduling:

The OMC is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance schedules to ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained effectively. This includes coordinating regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime.

Work Order/Notification Management:

The OMC manages and tracks maintenance requests and work orders from initiation to completion, ensuring that tasks are prioritized and executed efficiently.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with industry safety standards and legal regulations is a critical part of the OMC's role. They must maintain accurate records of maintenance activities for reporting and decision-making purposes.

Work Experience

• At least 3 years of refinery experience strongly preferred.

Education

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field

Work Environment

· Primarily working outside in a manufacturing environment.

· Exposed to the elements – heat, cold, rain, etc.

Physical Demands

· Walking

· Climbing stairs and ladders

· Sitting at a desk and working at a personal computer

Work Authorization
