Job DescriptionKeeps school campus and classrooms in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Sweeps, mops, dusts, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, office areas, and classrooms.
- Empties trash and garbage containers.
- Cleans windows, doors, walls, lighting fixtures, and trims.
- Maintains lavatories and bathrooms in neat and orderly condition and replenishes supplies of soap and paper.
- Works tactfully and harmoniously with staff.
- Handles routine and repetitious tasks.
- Exhibits satisfactory health and personal appearance.
- Has a neat, well‑groomed, appropriately dressed appearance.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- Less than a High School Diploma; no previous experience required.
- Capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily.
Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle brooms, mops, vacuums, and similar objects. Occasionally required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work EnvironmentNoise level is usually quiet.
Professional ConductEmployee must maintain a high standard of professional conduct. Breach includes neglect of duty, dishonesty, or any conduct prejudicial to the school system.
Chain of SupervisionHead Custodian, Assistant Custodian in the absence of Head Custodian, School Principal, Central Office Supervising Staff.
