Description
Reporting to the Production Unit Manager, the Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) manages the interface between maintenance, planning, and operations work streams to ensure that the scoping and scheduling of the operating department’s maintenance needs aligns with production requirements. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills to act as a crucial link between operations and maintenance teams, enhancing operational efficiency, extending equipment lifespan, minimizing downtime, reducing costs, and improving overall productivity.
EssentialFunctions
Planning and Scheduling:
The OMC develops and implements maintenance schedules to ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained effectively, coordinating regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime.
Work Order/Notification Management:
The OMC manages and tracks maintenance requests and work orders from initiation to completion, ensuring that tasks are prioritized and executed efficiently.
Compliance and Safety:
The OMC ensures that all maintenance activities comply with industry safety standards and legal regulations, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities for reporting and decision‑making purposes.
Organizational
Skills:
Excellent understanding of equipment operation and the planning and organizational abilities required to manage multiple tasks and schedules simultaneously.
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical systems and process interconnectivity to oversee maintenance tasks effectively.
Problem‑Solving
Skills:
Ability to quickly resolve issues that arise during maintenance operations.
Communication
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for coordinating with team members and management.
- At least 3 years of refinery experience strongly preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
- Primarily working outside in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposed to the elements—heat, cold, rain, etc.
- Walking.
- Climbing stairs and ladders.
- Sitting at a desk and working at a personal computer.
This role requires authorization to work in the United States.
