Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance
The Elevator Operations Technician is primarily responsible for the assigned facility’s daily receiving, storage, handling, drying and loading of grain; monitors stored grain conditions; maintains and cleans grain facilities and equipment. Provides a high level of customer service by displaying courteous, helpful, knowledgeable interaction and behaviors.
What You’ll Do:Safely and efficiently carry out unloading/loading of grain truck and railcars and storage bins within defined procedures and as directed. Monitors equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and takes appropriate action when malfunctions occur. Performs required preventative maintenance on equipment located within assigned facility. Notifies management of any necessary repairs or equipment concerns that may affect OSHA compliance or safe operations.
Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the facility, including elevators, grounds, buildings, and equipment, in accordance with established housekeeping standards and OSHA requirements. Communicates grain quality concerns to management in a timely manner. Exercises limited discretion affecting operational expenditures related to material movement and facility operations. Determines when cleaning of equipment, ceilings, walls, and other facility areas is required to control dust and maintain housekeeping standards.
This position is located in Stockport, IA (Stockport Iowa US).
Compensation:The current hourly pay for this role is estimated to be $19-$26/hour. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience1-2 years grain handling/facility maintenance
Functional Competencies- Ability to recognize and evaluate grain quality factors.
- Knowledge of facility grain flow and the ability to route grain to the appropriate equipment and storage location.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with OSHA safety requirements and other applicable regulations related to grain elevator operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to learn and manage multiple responsibilities in a detail-oriented, precise, and process-driven environment.
- Strong customer service skills demonstrated through courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable interactions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make fact-based decisions and proactively identify solutions and improvements.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate activities with office personnel and grain suppliers.
- Ability to assess working conditions and implement appropriate safety precautions during hot, cold, and other environmental conditions.
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as tractors, skid steers, welders, and torches.
- Proficiency in tractor and skid steer operation, preventative maintenance, and basic mechanical repair of facility equipment.
- Knowledge of grain handling practices, including routing and transferring grain to appropriate storage bins.
- Ability to perform equipment maintenance in accordance with established maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills required to support grain elevator operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
