General SummaryPerforms semi‑skilled to skilled maintenance on various mechanical, electrical, and carpentry projects.
Essential Functions- Service work: determine and correct problems with a/c units, heaters, plumbing, light refrigeration, electrical, etc.
- Preventative maintenance: check lights, doors, change filters, inspect equipment, and repair issues.
- Moving and storage of furniture: transport furniture and equipment without damage.
- Miscellaneous yard work, painting, carpentry, minor plumbing repairs, and snow removal.
- Operate required vehicle(s) safely to perform duties.
- Cross‑trained at all Mercy Medical Center Facilities; may perform snow removal.
- Assist contractors and others in servicing equipment.
- Computer/data entry knowledge.
Assists contractors and others in servicing equipment; basic computer and data entry skills.
Requirements- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two (2) years experience in preventative maintenance and service work.
- Valid driver’s/Chauffeur's license; meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; at least 18 years of age; eligible to drive per Iowa state law.
Constant reaching, grasping, repetitive motion, standing, pushing/pulling, kneeling, walking, carrying, lifting, climbing, driving, stooping, handling, occasional feeling, talking, and hearing activities may be required. Physical demands include lifting up to 65 lbs. push/pull, lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 40 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly; if an object exceeds 50 lbs., additional equipment or personnel needed.
