The University of Louisiana at Lafayette New Iberia Research Center (NIRC) specializes in the breeding, management, and importation of a diverse range of nonhuman primate species and offers a broad range of diagnostic, laboratory, and human resources for the development and characterization of nonhuman primate models for applied and basic research aimed at promoting human quality of life.

We’re looking for a Custodian 2 to join our New Iberia Research Center team. Custodians play a vital role in maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary facilities that support laboratory operations, research staff, and daily activities across the center.

Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

• Perform routine custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning floors
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, laboratories, and common areas
• Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste
• Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, stairways, and public areas
• Replenish restroom and sanitation supplies as needed
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment when necessary
• Follow proper safety and sanitation procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to appropriate personnel

Custodians perform routine manual work necessary to maintain buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas in a clean and orderly condition.

Compensation: This position has a minimum hourlyof $10.70/hour.
