Office of State Parks (OSP)

The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing, and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance, and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.

The purpose of this position is to complete various physical, custodial, and/or administrative tasks, including cleaning facilities and assisting the public.

No experience or training required.

• Assists administration staff in collection of appropriate fees from site visitors
• Assists customers in finding retail items to purchase.
• Receives, cash, checks and credit cards from customers and/or employees for payments for goods and services.
• Assists with shelving and displaying merchandise.
• Assists in storing extra merchandise in storeroom.
• Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries.
• Puts out the coffee services for guests and cleans coffee canisters after use
• Requires the ability to stoop, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, sit, stand, and walk on a regular daily basis.

Location:

Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site, St. Francisville, LA

Appointment Type:
This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period. Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.

Work Schedule:

Part-time;
Mon-Sun.
