Park Technician - WAE

The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.

The purpose of this position is to complete various physical, custodial, and/or preventative and corrective maintenance tasks to include cleaning various facilities.

This posting will be used to fill two (2) positions.

No experience or training required.

• Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of facilities.

• Cleans interior and exterior of facilities at site.

• Cleans picnic areas to include tables and grills.

• Assist in upkeep of site grounds and facilities.

• perform basic corrective and preventative maintenance to site facilities.

• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools.

• Remove trash and collect litter and debris.

• Requires the ability to stoop, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, sit, stand, and walk on a regular daily basis.

Bayou Segnette State Park, Westwego, LA

Appointment Type:
These positions will be filled as part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period. Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.

Work Schedule:

Part-time;
Mon-Sun;
Weekends and Holidays will be required.
