Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to perform general labor, sanitation and maintenance duties. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Essential Functions- Vacuum, dust, mop, strip and wax floors, wash walls and perform other routine custodial duties.
- Dust and polish furniture, equipment, and work area surfaces.
- Mow and trim grass, cut weeds, trim and prune shrubs and trees, rake leaves and debris, collect litter from outside areas, remove snow from sidewalks and public areas, and perform other grounds maintenance tasks.
- Wash and clean interior glass windows and doors, walls, baseboards and ceilings.
- Obtain chairs, tables and audio‑visual equipment, prepare meeting rooms for use, and lift and move furniture, equipment and supplies.
- Operate and use vacuum cleaners, buffers, carpet shampooers, lawn mowers, weed eaters, snow plows, and cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Transport items and materials from suppliers, vendors and other agencies, and perform work to assist with special events or seasonal activities.
- Clean bathrooms and replace supplies.
- Change light bulbs using a six‑foot or shorter ladder.
- Empty waste containers.
- Clean sidewalks and steps of assigned location or facility.
- Instructs new employees in cleaning techniques.
- Removes silt and debris from dock area, and operates handicapped lift.
- Performs related work.
- High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
Minimum Requirements
- Must wear personal protective and safety equipment as mandated by OSHA.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
- Must work a varied schedule.

Physical DemandsPhysical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
- Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

Bright/dim light;
Dusts and pollen;
Extreme heat and/or cold;
Wet or humid conditions;
Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife;
