Maintenance Mechanic - Engineering, Norton West Louisville Hospital

Responsibilities

Works throughout hospital, medical office buildings, and off‑site locations, which may include limited‑access areas including medication rooms. Must be able to perform general maintenance of buildings and equipment. Responds to routine and emergency work orders within allotted time frames. Tasks also involve emergency systems (emergency generator, fire alarm systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, electrical distribution and circuits). Performs ongoing preventive maintenance programs for assigned equipment.

Must have problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills. Must follow through with little supervisory guidance. Demonstrates good time‑management skills and works well within a team environment. Possesses good communication and interaction skills with staff, physicians, patients, and visitors. Work week is scheduled and may vary according to staffing changes and weather conditions. Works with new employees in training of departmental functions.
