This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee daily cleaning operations and manage a team of janitorial staff to ensure our facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. As the frontline coordinator between the janitorial team and facility management, you will be instrumental in creating a culture of quality, safety, and pride in the work performed.

Your leadership will ensure team performance meets and exceeds expectations, directly contributing to occupant satisfaction and operational excellence.
** What your day-to-day will look like:
*** Assign daily tasks, directly supervise cleaning crews to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely, and manage staff attendance and shift coverage
* Conduct regular quality control inspections using detailed checklists to verify compliance with cleaning standards, identify deficiencies, and ensure immediate corrective action is taken
* Train and onboard new employees on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and safety protocols, while providing ongoing coaching and skill development for the entire team
* Monitor and manage cleaning supply inventory, submit requisitions, and inspect equipment to coordinate maintenance and minimize operational disruptions
* Serve as the primary liaison between janitorial staff and management, communicating operational issues, staffing needs, and preparing daily shift reports
* Enforce all safety policies and procedures, conduct safety observations, investigate any incidents, and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
* Address and resolve customer concerns diplomatically and handle special requests from building occupants promptly and professionally

* Required Qualifications:

*** A high school diploma or equivalent
* A minimum of 2-4 years of janitorial or custodial experience
* At least 1-2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, preferably overseeing teams of 5-15 employees
* Comprehensive understanding of commercial cleaning methods, techniques, and best practices
* Proficiency in operating commercial cleaning equipment such as floor machines, carpet extractors, and auto-scrubbers
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper dilution ratios, and safe handling procedures
* Understanding of OSHA safety regulations, blood borne pathogen procedures, and hazard communication standards

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Bilingual capability (e.g., English/Spanish) to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce
* Industry certifications such as OSHA 10-Hour, Bloodborne Pathogen Certification, or custodial certificates from ISSA or BSCAI
* Strong leadership and time management skills with a proven ability to motivate a team and manage multiple priorities
* Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving capabilities
* Basic computer skills for record-keeping, email, and scheduling systems
