The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning, Division of State Schools, Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) in Louisville (Jefferson County) has an opening for a Facility Maintenance Worker I.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain bathrooms, clean fixtures, and keep toiletries supplied.
  • Clean windows and door glass inside and out.
  • Wash lockers, walls and fixtures when needed.
  • Clean and dust furniture, desks, chairs, and tables as needed.
  • Clean janitor closets and equipment daily.
  • Scrub, buff and wax floors.
  • Clean floors by dust mopping and wet mopping as needed.
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets and stairs.
  • Collect and dispose of trash in any area.
  • Sweep and hose down debris from sidewalks and other areas.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
