Note:

Work hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May be required to work occasional shifts outside of the regular shift to meet department needs. An essential function of this position requires exertion of up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects such as lifting trash, pushing cleaning equipment, moving furniture, etc.

It also requires constant or frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching. Successful candidate must be able to follow verbal communications and be able to read and comprehend written directions on labels, machinery and in manuals. Also, must be able to interpret written directives, policies, and sanitary guidelines. Position is eligible to receive shift differential pay for all applicable hours.

This full-time position is located in Custodial Services at Arapahoe Community College and will provide a safe and clean environment for students, staff and the public. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

Clean and maintain campus facilities, including classrooms, restrooms, offices, and public areas. Perform tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, and polishing various surfaces. Clean and sanitize furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Wash windows and remove graffiti. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replenish supplies. Secure areas after cleaning in accordance with campus procedures. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions for different types of spills and surfaces.

Report maintenance and safety issues promptly and respond to urgent situations and emergencies as directed.

Service custodial equipment to help ensure proper operation, including cleaning and/or changing vacuum bags, filters, belts, and mop heads, in accordance with safety guidelines. Maintain auto scrubbers and other equipment in proper working condition and keep work carts clean, organized, and restocked. Monitor and manage cleaning supplies by checking inventory, reporting shortages, organizing and replacing stock on shelves, and ensuring containers (e.g., spray bottles) are clearly and accurately labeled.

Turn in soiled cleaning cloths and other reusable items and collect clean replacements, following established procedures. Clean all equipment after use and return items to the designated storage location. Report equipment issues or servicing needs to the supervisor or appropriate contact.

Perform detail cleaning on a scheduled basis, including dusting and cleaning windows, blinds, ledges, hardware, door frames, picture frames, baseboards, wall signs, walls, stairwells, and ceiling vents. Clean trash and recycling containers inside and out. Vacuum door tracks and walk-off mats. Clean, wipe, and polish elevator surfaces. Clean cubicle doors and windows. Strip, scrub, restore, wax, and buff hard-surface floors, following safety and manufacturer guidelines.

Shampoo, bonnet-clean, and extract moisture from carpets and upholstered furniture. Spot clean carpets, furniture surfaces, walls, stairwells, window blinds, sills, and windows. Safely operate equipment such as floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, floor buffers, and power washers. Straighten and return furniture and equipment to their designated positions after cleaning. Respond to customer service requests and complete other assigned projects in a professional and respectful manner.
